The Book of Adam, or "Contradiction of Adam and Eve", is a romance made up of Oriental fables. It was first translated from the Ethiopian version into German by Dillman, "Das christliche Adambuch" (Göttingen, ), and into English by Malan, "The Book of Adam . The Book of Adam was a popular early Christian-era work, that is believed to have originally been a Jewish texts, and was then adopted by the earliest Christians. Based on the references to the the Powers, the Georgian translation was likely based on the Armenian Penitence of Adam or Latin Life of Adam and Eve.
